Trilha Pedra do Sino (Pedra do Sino Trail)

The Pedra do Sino is the summit of the Serra dos Órgãos with 2,275 m and from there, the view reaches the entire Guanabara Bay, the city of Rio de Janeiro and part of the Paraíba Valley, on the continental side. Access by trail is a classic in mountaineering. The trail is about 11 km (a five to six hours walk) from the Park’s venue, in Teresópolis, at 1,100 meters altitude, to the mountains’ summit. The first stretch is lighter, inside the woods, with pavement from the Empire era. The two waterfalls along the way are good stopping options. The trail is bumpy and its access is limited to 100 people per day. The trail is also the final stretch of the traditional crossing Petrópolis-Teresópolis.
